Sat Nav Wizard

A few years ago my Satnav failed, I sourced a repair guy in Dublin, He did me a great deal for a replacement, and ever since then he's been on the ball when it comes to...er... matters concerning maps.
He's asked me to spread the word, so if anyone out there has a Satnav issue of ANY sort, there's a budget-friendly solution. Drop me a pm or email and I'll be happy to forward his details.

You mean like a dedicated satnav thing that sticks to your window or dash?

Do people still own those? You'll be telling me next they still make them!!

I have both as I’ve tried to update the one on the dash but have failed so the one that’s sticks to 5he window I can link to my laptop and update it with free updates

You would know your maker if you were working with a fluxgate compass. I followed the sat nav last night into Dungarvan. It brought me along the seafront onto the one way system and up Thompson Lane. I had about 2 inches on both sides and had to avoid a cornerstone at the end. When i got to the end I had to use the whole street to get out of the lane because of the tail swing. Heading to Cobh now, can anyone suggest any tight spaces to keep me on my toes

12. Whilst using your satnav on your phone you can also use your music app, charge your phone and even make a hands free call.



A dedicated satnav (wether built in or stuck to your windscreen) is like having a motorhome and going away for the weekend in your touring caravan.

Dedicated satnav - pffft, waste of money. 😘

I had the pleasure of that street last year Tommy...like you said...literally inches either side...must have been even worse in your van 🤒

I didn't realise that satnavs were now considered old-fashioned. Jeez, when I read your replies I nearly dropped my eight-track cartridges!

Well all I can say is I have an Garmin Nuvi 200,,, yeah very old :lol: But it still works a treat for me. and I :love: It.. I tend to only use it for the last part of my journeys to pinpoint the location.. I also have all my Poi's stored on it..

Jesus.. Talk about eight-track cartridges! I remember the first one I had was Jim Reeves.. :sick: and thought it was very cool to have in my Morris 1100 ::: yeah I know.. I'm a bit :sick: :lol: :lol:

Mine 8-track was in my old Chevrolet station wagon. Straight six, bench seats, column change. Lots of cubic inches.
It was not long after the Range Rover came out, boasting their rear screen wiper. Anyway, I came up behind one, he decided to show off by flicking a switch and wiping his back window.
What else could I do? I dropped a gear, cruised past him, pulled in front....flicked a switch and lowered my tinted electric back window!
