Electric drop down bed

 ·
Posted: 14.07.2020  ·  #1
Hi all

I have a Hobby 750 with an electrically operated drop down bed over the lounge area. I have noticed it is not going up as high as it did at first and while one side is very slightly lower than the other the whole unit is probably sitting about 2 ins lower than when we first got it.

Any thoughts or better still an easy fix??

Cheers

I would guess there will a way of setting the cut-off. I’ll see if my manual has any details. Do you know the make of the bed.

Unfortunately no make or model on bed . There is a key slot in the wall which I was told was the on off switch for the bed but the key had been lost by the original owner and its permanently set to on so not sure if that would have any bearing. There are manuals for just about everything in the van except (typically) the bed but it would make sense that its adjustable someway or other.

Cheers for having a wee look for me

Found this on another site for the project 2000 bed.

Enter in programming mode after having switched on the panel. To enter the programming mode, hold the hidden button (between the button UP and DOWN) and the button UP for 7 seconds. The green LED light with the symbol of the key switches on. If it doesn’t, repeat the operation.
Put underneath the bed some supports able to hold the bed in the lowest position.
Press the button UP; the bed descends. Let it rest on the supports and keep pushing until the bed starts raising again. Bring the bed up to its higher position and let it press the electric contact (limit switch).
Let the bed descend and start programming the positions (depending on the model of the bed can be 3 or 4 points). Let the bed descend to the first position, press the hidden button plus the button DOWN. The LED on the arrows will switch off and on again. Repeat with this procedure for the next 2-3 points and the system will automatically quit the programming mode.

Thanks for all that Mark and Wendy but my bed seems to have different controls. There is the key controlled on/ off switch on the wall and a hand held up and down controller attached by cable to the bed. No hidden buttons unfortunately. We are presently parked in a campsite in a very rainy Donegal and we aren't actually needing the bed at the minute so once we get home ill lower it and get access to the lifting pistons and see if there's anything obvious in there that can be adjusted.

Thanks again

hi Big Mal, hope you are well.. I also have a Hobby 750 Toskana ( 2012 ) had some problems with the drop down bed,
so the easy fix was ...switch on with key, press up button and down button at the same time, it should level out the bed,
keep them pressed until the bed is level...( worked for me ) also improved the height of bed...

Hey John

Thanks for that as it sounds like exactly what I need. Problem at the minute is the key for the switch was lost by previous owner but thats a something I should be able to get around if I take the switch off the wall and jump it.

Thanks for your help
