Cable clutch snapped.

Fiat ducato 1.9D 93' Knaus,
While I was driving about to go 4th gear the clutch cable snapped on me,
I had a look in engine area to take a look for a dislodged wire or something didn't see nothing because I'm was driving a left hand drive model so i took a look under vehicle and I seen the wire has snapped.. picture below,
Myself I'm ok with my hands 😄 thinking I could fix it myself,
tie string onto the bottom the wire where broke and pull it through as a guide and then pulled through the new replacement cable yous think this is possible, seen videos on YouTube from the few that are there just about enough info, anyone ever change one ?
what do you think hard job easy or in-between, I got the part that I needed from Mick's garage Auto parts store,
Febi Bilstein Clutch Cable for fiat ducato van 1989 to 1994 - 1.9 TD [82hp. 1929cc.]

I would move it off the grass before you start because if you drop something it will be hard to find.
Let us know how you get on

Thanks for the replies👍 I will try to fix it myself when the part arrives.
Another small problem I ran into this morning ,while I was starting up to vehicle I seen my plug light did not come on dashboard, when I start is turning over but not catching. wondering if I have a bad glow plug.
As this is a German import the guidebook is not very helpful., I took 3 pictures of the engine hoping that someone could point out where the glow plug could be , 🙂

I can’t see them. I would be looking for 4 electrodes protruding from the cylinder head and all wired in series. One above each cylinder. Also need to check the rely switch.

Unrelated question - Did you remove the oil filler cap from the rocker cover before taking the photo?

No, that’s not a glow plug.
That’s a sensor.

Glow plugs in that van are in the front of the cylinder head, they can be checked without removing them. The control relay also needs checking.
On one of your photos you can see them. They are connected together with a buzz-bar held on by 8mm nuts.

Ditto @Blag
Have you removed the oil cap?

Yes I had the oil cap off (I had to take it off so I can remove the covering for the cylinder head
The photo below on the cylinder head there is a bull bar it has four screws going into the cylinder head would these be the glow plugs?

This is another object coming out of the cylinder head it is on the front right hand side kind of hard to get a photo.

That's four glow plugs then, right?
Also would this be the relay box,

I should have had it in the original post when the cable snapped on the clutch I pulled it into the side the road but not completely so I put it in 1st gear tried to start it two nudge it in off the road I only done it three or 4 times, by the time I was done the battery was weakend slightly, it was safely off the road that was the main thing at the time. So when a friend towed me a a short distance home ,luckily.
Got back noticed the glow light indicator on the dashboard wasn't coming on at all and I guess I thought is was the glow plugs but doing some more looking up online it could actually be the relay box as there was no glow plug light coming on, I could be totally wrong on this I should have added at the start of convo , do have the four glow plugs arriving in the next couple of days but I'm thinking what would be the point if it was the relay box ..so may have to get both well a relay box anyways. Thanks all on the replies been great

I'm not sure if this is possible but if I connected the battery+ side to the glow plugs buzz bar with a sturdy wire,
could I find out if the relay box is faulty, Got 4 glow plugs that I was going to change I could do this before.

do you guys think it could be something to do with the fuse box why the glow plug light is not coming on or even the vehicle starting, could there be some erosion on the pins the fusebox in s in the glove box kinda dry.
also going to have to get the battery charged because I've been trying to start it I'm getting no joy,.any ideas let me know 👍

If you have new plugs, I would change them first. If that doesn’t work, trace the wiring back to find the relay. Then check it with a voltage meter. The relay has a built in timer, so you should read the voltage on for 10 seconds or so, then off. Don’t risk shorting the buzz bar, it’s more likely to do more damage.

Vehicle won't start for me ( maybe I just need to leave the bonnet opened
The sun is hitting on it for an hour to do no harm might warm it up, if it gets difficult I'm just going to leave it not make a bigger problem than I already have :)

Before changing the glow plugs which could cause you problems I’d be inclined to clean all the terminals on the relay

When Open the glove box there are a number of relays beside the fusebox,
looking up online is very difficult to get a diagram for 1993 ducato camper,
Which relay could it be m

Glow plug relay is normally under the bonnet beside the battery on these old vehicles
It might be worth registering in Talbot Owners Club for free.
There is not much the guys on there don’t know about Fiats/Talbots of this era
