Hi,

Would be grateful if anybody could give me some advice on where I can park my camper overnight in Bundoran?

Heading there for a surf trip now covid rules have been relaxed.

Thanks as always,

Zach

I’ve read in other posts and it would seem Bundoran is not Motorhome friendly. Some of the Stalwarts will be along shortly to advise I’m sure

There is no welcome for Motorhomers in Bundoran except perhaps from the campsite.

Hi Albert, Galway City Council have a very big problem with motorhomes due to ignorance and vested interests at play. It’s not going to change anytime soon so best to avoid the city. I was in Salthill last week which has loads of no motorhome parking signs along the the prom.

How sad is that, I just love Galway and parked at the harbour before the restrictions came in but can’t see me coming back if they cannot sort it. Such a shame and loss to the city

We intend to be that way over the July Holliday but will have no problems finding somewhere else to spend our money if they despise us that much.
We spent time there in the past and did feel welcome but I will never plead with anyone to let me spend my money.
Their loss will be someone else's gain.

Can’t understand ireland with each town city getting bad publicity in not wanting Motorhomes it’s bound to have an effect on tourism from what others are saying france can’t get enough Motorhomes with an Aire in most towns ,it’s only when Motorhomes stop using ireland will it hit them just how much there missing out on ,( it’s a pity )

Bundoran and Galway are both well serviced by actual camping parks , in these actual designated camping areas, you get to sleep safe and secure with plenty of maintained facilitys nearby.

Here we go again. We are talking about parking, not camping. Who do you represent?

But most motorhomers don’t want to be on a camping site, they want the freedom of choice nor do they want to pay for facilities that are not required as they have everything on board. If they want maintained facilities nearby they would be towing a caravan.

Yeah, great for Caravans.
Bundoran has a beautiful feature, it’s called a bypass, come to think of it so does Galway.
Luckily we don’t need your sites so we’ll take a rain check and keep using the by-passes. thanks anyway. It’s great to see a town so fortunate of a position that it doesn’t want our business or money, but plenty that do and we can entertain those.
Say hello to everyone on the council for us, most of them can be found in the hotels they own around the town..... wonder is that the reason motorhomes aren’t wanted ?

Thanks John. There is so many vested interests that seem to want to curb our rights to drive and sleep in our vans that just makes me wonder what gives them the right.
