Ok, I’m presuming you are looking for a factory built van, since you are, hopefully, specifying the preference for a left hand drive. The reason I put forward the figures I did is to try ascertain your budget. If budget is not your overriding concern, I would aim for the 2000 up to 2006 models. The mechanics of these, engine wise, are generally very reliable, and quite simple to work on, in comparison to more modern vehicles. Also interior quality of build seem to have been downgraded in newer models. In so far, as that, build quality has been sacrificed for design gizmos and gimmicks.
Happy hunting. I hope you get the van of your dreams
A camper based on the 2001 > 2006 Ducato 244, that's the one with the big headlights and grill, is the best option. They were the end of the 2.8 line with a pretty bombproof engine and gearbox.
