Hi there,
I am new to the forum and have a question in relation to VAT and VRT.
I have a deposit on a new motorhome in the UK, and I have to go over and collect it as soon as I can. However, the motorhome dealer is not able to advise me on the VAT and VRT charges. The price I am paying for the motorhome is ex. 20% which is the UK VAT, and I am finding it difficult to get any information due to the lock down.
My understanding is that I pay Irish VAT of 23% of the amount I pay to the dealer. On top of that there is a 13% VRT charge of the value of the motorhome if it was sold in Ireland.
I am not sure where and when I have to pay the VAT and VRT and also if there are any other outlays involved, hidden or otherwise.
Any advice would be greatly received.
Jason
