Hi folks 🇧🇭 i joined M C around the time of its inception but somehow promptly managed to lose it again ah so I'm back Have been member wild camping several decades at 76 have had many m'homes no more too many have discreet merc vito Tardis but can park more or less anywhere i like and that's a lot in France most recently Brittany Been mh ing for nigh on 50 years all sort of wagons have another almost finished restoration it's a classic Autosleeper Rimini on a Renault traffic 1978 goes well with my Honda c 400 also 78. Too lots pof restorin g cos of the search for parts but it was a bad but and I've had tpo spend twioce as much as it's £1200 cost getting it mechanically right..rest is good tho' It's for Ireland the Merc will live in France so walk on free train bus Rosslare walk on Oscar wilde and drive away in Cherbourg finding save "leave it awhile" in France is quite easy. Usually this one tows a small yacht I have a 22ft yacht for home waters mainly West Cork next year. I'm alone so I don't need to be in my secure flat in Belfast unless i want to what i do is duplicate everything especially clothing so travelling light to whichever can even manage Ryanair tho' I hate it and hate flying at all now. I've travelled most parts of Europe some many times spent some years on the French canals alternating with my now scrapped old Hymer; the only parts i've not tramped are Scandanavia and the baltic coast; spain and portugal -germany france italy the balkans eastern europe (CZ Hungary Solvakia) are all familiar tho now i's gertting old there just doesn't ever seem time enough since it went back to sailing a live aboard yuachjt rather than towing classic dinghies behind a van. OK das me maybe see ye someplace the Merc (Vito) has nice decals- leaping fish and yachts etc- the Rimini also has several of the same plus a big anchor on the bonnet so I'm recognisable
i always have buckets of good french coffee aboard all fellow mh welcome. I come from an age when motorhomers were garrulous friendly and always chatted and helped each other what disappoints me are the ones ( all to often hirers) who arrive, park on your bumper, exit and walk the pooch yes mostly yorkies) climb back in, draw the curtains and then the satellite starts tpo search and that's it...next thing is the drive poff in the morningh. Real friendly but there they are and it's not the same any more. Please knock on my window anything you like if ever you find me.

Welcome to Motorhomecraic. Good to see you posting.
If you are traveling to France from Ireland a lot it might be worth considering subscribing to this forum as it will get you 10% off Celtic link ferries among other things.

Hi Charles & welcome.

Based on your experience I'll bet you have plenty of stories to tell...

Looking forward to them.
