The bit about it never going away is no surprise to me. The bit about there might never being a vaccine is! So whether we flatten the curve or not, it still ends up being the same number of infections in the long run, except for people who cocoon indefinitely.

While we wait for a Sars-Cov-2 vaccine, there still is no Sars-Cov-1 vaccine (original SARS). That's 18 years old now.
