I'm hoping to go but can't commit until nearer the time. I usually go up the evening before and spend the first and second day at the show then head home or wherever on the third day, no traffic jams.

GREED, GREED, GREED. Just went on line to book tickets for this year's event, €60 if you want to park your camper overnight. I know they lost money over the last couple of years with Covid but this is not the way to recoup it. The site says that you can stay for up to 5 nights but who'd want to. Come off it NPA, €60 to park in a field without facilities overnight, that's absolutely disgusting.

Glastonbury festival was £90 the last time I was there plus £280 for each person, I'd pay it again in a heartbeat. Water and black waste.
On the scale of entertainment, I don't know how much a plough fan would get for kicks at the Ploughing championships as a music lover would at glastonbury

I had hoped to get there this year but they can stick that where the sun don't shine
My feelings exactly, greedy basters.
Same here went trough the booking system to see if it was a misprint, and they still have my unused money from last time. Still can't figure if I could have brought Liath.

I got a callback from the NPA this morning and I told them exactly what I thought of their discrimination and rip off of motorhome owners. The lady who rang me, I've forgotten her name but very pleasant, did a lot of wriggling trying to justify the charge but was shot down by me on everything she said.
NPA> we have to take out insurance for the camper field. Me>you have to take out insurance for the entire event including all parking areas. Motorhomes have their own insurance.
NPA>we are providing toilets in the camper field. Me> you are providing toilets in all parking areas and throughout the entire site. Anyway motorhomes have their own toilets.
NPA>we have to have security on the campervan field. Me>never saw any in previous years once the site had closed down for the night.
NPA> have you checked out other camp sites in the area? Me> I'm not interested in paying €30 or more just to park for the night, I just want to visit the ploughing match as I have done for the last 40 years.
Me> if I drive up for just a one day visit can I park my camper in one of the car parks?
NPA. No, you'll be directed to the camper field but you'll need a ticket.
Me> you're discriminating against campervan owners and I'm disgusted by your greed.
I told her I'd give them the publicity they deserve and brought the conversation to a close. Feel free to pass on the above to all fellow motorhomers.
