Hi guys,
My first post, it's a good one and a word of warning. If you have a leaking rooflight, fix it as soon as you can and do it right. A previous owner had 'fixed' ours but it wasn't a good job, water had been getting in for years and the result is in the photo. 2/3 of the roof is rotten and not just the ceiling, the top ply is rotten too. Will have to peel the roof off to fix this one. But will use it as an opportunity to fit a bigger rooflight and brighten the interior as its a bit dark!
Torq.

Did I mention that I'm also in the middle of rebuilding an engine for it. The original is still in, starts first turn of the key but only runs on 3 cyl as the tip broke off no1 cylinder injector nozzle just outside Mountmellick and is embedded in either the piston or the cylinder head.

In case anyone is wondering it's the ubiquitous 2.8 Iveco mechanical injection engine (sofim 8140.43) found in Fiat Ducato, Citroen Relay, Peugeot Boxer and Renault Master to name but a few.

Bummer....Those engines are generally bulletproof..... Certainly have some work ahead of you!

Not the first I've rebuilt either. I once bought a ducato 2.8jtd van with a dead engine. On that one the timing belt tensioner had snapped off, there were valves embedded in the pistons. Rebuilt an engine for that one and got 10 years out of it before the rust kicked in.

Mechanics, electrical and woodworking don't bother me, but I just don't like welding.

Just a quick update. Cut a piece of the insulation out to see what is above and my fears have been justified. Yes I know it's rotten, that wasn't the fear, the fear is that the roof would be made of mdf and not ply. Yep, god only knows why but it's mdf, something I would never use were there is chance of moisture ingress. Definite roof peel off coming up and replacement with marine ply.
