Ohms reading across the switch terminals to determine if the switch is operating.
You’re getting +5v across the spades as you’re taking a reading thru the circuit.
Try pinning it out to a 0v ground and you ‘may’ get +12v ... depending if the circuit is designed for 12v switching.
If the system works on motors that change direction then each motor will be wired thru a pair of 3 pin relays (probably smt) to obtain reverse polarity.

Pin out both the micro switches using the ohms settings (wires removed from micro switches, and probes on switch spades........ they should open close)

Disconnecting the motors and powering them up will determine if they’re OK...... those Bosch motors have carbon brushes on little spring loaded brass bases that rot away..... they are motors that are used on electric windows alright.... you can repair them.

First thing I would do is get a load of wd40 sprayed over all that you seem to have a load of rust plus, rust will be in the connectors which won’t help with any connections, get it all cleaned up with wd 40 and a brush to me it looks like the limit switch’s I have some of them switches I think, I’ll have a look for them if you need them I’ll post them to you

(seen you don't need it, but a tip for anyone else)

WD40 would strip the grease. WD40 is great at what it is meant to do but it then seizes stuff up. If you use it, always grease or oil after freeing.

looking at the pictures would the shaft with brass cog on the end and the pin over the switch possibly have gotten out of sync and is activating the stop switch before it should?

No all is in sync , it's as soon as it lift's off the switch that it stops

Is there another limit switch on that arm. It appears as if that one should stop the motor when it’s fully down. What stops it when it’s fully up. That’s what I’d be looking for. Doesn’t sound like it’s the motor.
You say it stops as soon as it lifts off that limit switch. If you hold that switch down, will it keep operating

The second one in the photo seems to be on a cam bases.
You should follow all the wiring and make sure there isnt a short or loose connection, when the movement starts , robbing the power and giving the impression that the micro has activated.
I do mean all the wiring you never know what will pull the power down without blowing a fuse.

My thinking is its possible that the up is controlled by the controller (azimuth setting) so possibly only 1 limit switch for when its in the travel mode,

Only 2 switches 1 for the up and 1 for the circle although I don't know what makes it stop when it's up, probably run by the controller in the van as it has to keep changing tilt when searching

Had another look today,ran meter on ohms ,got a 1 with switch down, and lots of numbers which settled on 0.00 when up ,ran independent 12v to motor in situ on van , it seemed to run ok but I had to stop it as I was afraid the second motor would start up ,then forgot to reconnect the stop switch and the switch pin snapped , it's back now where it should be and everything is put back together, think I'll take it to Donaghys when we're up for the Donegal meet

Mad Max Is right The Limit switch is to tell the controller that the dish is down and stop.
..

My guess is that it is some kind of Controller problem, because the controller has to fine tune the angle up/down a small bit to lock on.
Then it tells the the controller to rotate and search for 28.2 to find the satellite.
So to me it seems that the controller is stopping the dish from going to the correct height. Maybe there was a glitch in last Software update that you did, forum/topic.php?t=20758 might be worth updating again. or possibly a faulty controller. Also might be worth checking some of the Settings on the controller.

If that makes a bit of sense.

Yeah so was my laptop, till I plugged in a usb drive. nothing happened done a total restart whoo all working again.. Gadgets have a habit of going wrong well with me anyway.

P.s. On a side note, if you look at the elevation 23.3 on the screen shot this is the angle the dish should be at when fully up. If you were able to measure this you would know that the dish would be the right height.

I've got this problem, motor running, but Teleco Flatsat Easy dish not lifting due to nuts on drive shaft not being tight enough. Is there a specific nm the nuts need tightening to, or is it just a matter of tightening them as much as you can?

I tried contacting them but they just want me to go to a dealer. They think I need a new motor, even though I told them the motor is running. So they haven't been very helpful.

That's great customer service .

An 8mm bolt torque is between 19 and 25 N/M so you could so you could start at the lower end, but I would suggest loosen them first and make sure it's in the fully down or up position before before you tighten them up.
