I heard someone mention a disused bank some place near Chalks service station on the Dublin side of the city. I really don’t know, there are a few on the app outside the City alright, there is also an Aire in Monaleen

The disused AIB is in Castletroy on the other side of the Dublin Road from The Hurlers bar and a bit out from the City Center. There was a robbery at this branch about 20 years ago where the thieves cut a hole in the roof over the weekend and lay in wait for Monday morning. AIB ended up building a new premises next door and left this building idle since then.
The Aire in Monaleen is very close to Castletroy, marginally more remote from the city center.
If the city center is your thing, options are thin but along the river on O'Callaghan Strand might be a decent balance between proximity to City Centre and not too much late night traffic.
Alternatively, you could try ringing somewhere like Woodfield House on the Ennis Road who have a relatively large and level car park to the rear of the premises, they may be open to overnighting either on a quid pro quo basis if you're eating/drinking there or maybe for a small charge, worst they can do is say no.

In 2018/19 the owners of THIS CAR PARK were actively considering putting in a motorhome parking area and looked at Cobh as an exmple. I'm not sure of how the project is progressing, if it's progressing at all.
It might be worth checking it out.
Overnight parking is available at the Potato Market Car Park.
HOWEVER PLEASE NOTE
The gates are closed from 6.00 pm to 8.00 am every night.
The charge is €10 or €12 per 24 hours
First point of contact is the Tourist Office at 20, O'Connell Street who will give out the contact number for the person in charge of the parking and who will give a key to enter or leave the carpark when it is closed to the public.
It is best to contact the tourist office (061) 317 522 before arrival but the motorhome may be parked first if necessary.
Parking without checking in will result in being locked in overnight from 6.00 pm (there is no pedestrian gate) and could result in being clamped.
The parking is not officially recognised by Limerick City and County Council yet and there are no services available.

I don't know about the Potato market, I have parked there a good few times early in the morning Lately while taking a patient to Barringtons hospital and the place is mental with cars parked there, I have yet to see a Motorhome parked there. the place fills up quickly and cars do be queued outside it waiting for cars to leave. if you did get in you would need a Motorhome the same size as a car as parking is very tight

If overnight parking is an option however, I would imagine most spaces would free up when it comes time to gates closing. Just be sure there is pedestrian access to and from the car park after 8 pm though. In which case it would be an ideal spot, 30 seconds from the Lough Bar and close to everything.

Brilliant! What is the craic the following day, do you have to be out at a certain time or can you pay for an extra couple hours? I don’t want to move too early after a few pints or get up early to feed a parking meter. When you have an empty car park make sure to park where you can drive straight out. It’s a great location just across the road from the Locke Bar.
I am working in Limerick for the next few months and am considering taking the motorhome down to stay in monday to friday, is there anywhere I could park for long duration?

As a limerick local I wouldn't park my motorhome in the milk market . Too close to night clubs and pubs . Also unless you have a van forget about parking a motorhome
For safety and your own security better go to the Aire in Monaleen. There is also campsite in Adare and curraghchase campsite .

The previous posts referred to parking in the Potato Market , not the Milk Market. The Potato Market is locked up at night but with pedestrian access apparently. The other places you mention are fine, but are not suitable for city center access.
I have parked at the old bank in castletroy, across the road from the hurlers many times, no issues, nice quiet spot. Beside bus stop into city centre, filling station with large deli across the road. It’s a great spot.
