It rained here today ,but then it also rained for the last 42 days as well.
Can see your post Norman, can't see the original post. I heard it was some smug git talking about sunshine?
Yep that’ll be me!
It’s funny though I was chatting to an Irish motorhome occupant on a free parking spot at Alicante who was talking about how few Irish vans he has seen in Spain. He has been coming over every winter for the last 15 years. For him he loves Ireland but not in the winter he is a coach driver tour guide and therefore works from Spring til autumn in Ireland then sprints down to Spain in the winter.
As he said best of both worlds and pretty good weather all year.
If you have not done some time over winter in your van in Spain and you have the opportunity to do so then give it a go, once you have the strong likelihood is that you will want to do it again and again. There are Camperstops of all types from all singing and dancing campsites, Aires and just good old fashioned over night parking spots.
Diesel is cheap, as is food and alcohol. And vitamin D is available pretty much every day.
Hi J And A, we enjoyed a lovely visit last summer with the kids at Strand Camping and glad to hear you're enjoying your winter away. Wondering if you could help with recommendations... Will be traveling from Barcelona to Bilboa to catch our ferry home mid July, and would like to stay somewhere in Basque Country for a few nights. We will have visited Sans Sebastian earlier in our trip so thinking Pamplona our Bilboa just not sure...

We don’t really spend any time in that area due to the time of year we are in the area. And a lot of sites in particular are closed when we travel. We normally use Aires in the area.

We stay at an aire north of Pamplona, place called Berriozar.... it’s on Campercontact, #19155.
Fine for a transit stop, all services, nice and quiet for a night, token for services from leisure centre, clean and well lit on tarmac. It’s at high altitude, so gets cool at night...... but it’s a good stop.
Hope this helps.
