Those folk have the potential to wreck motorhoming for the masses.... they care not a thing about law, wrecking their environment nor the communities they wreak havoc on, a real scourge on society.

Heres a comment from the paper , does that apply to all who park illegally?
'The council informed the owners they were trespassing on council land and asked for the vehicles to be moved.
Today the police and council have visited again to carry out welfare checks on the occupants of the vehicles, as is required by Home Office guidance before enforcement action can be taken.
Those checks have been completed. The police will use their powers to move the vehicles from Hove Lawns today. We understand there are concerns in the local community but there is a process which has to be followed by law.'
yesterday police said they were unable to act over the weekend as their criteria for intervention had not been met.

In other words, we won’t do anything, unless we absolutely have to. If it was you or I, they would be down on us like a ton of bricks

That’s the thing David, if anyone of us parked up so blatantly with no tax etc on such a public site our vehicles would be towed, we’d be summonsed and taken to court, fined and possibly have points put on our licences........
But these people seem to ignore the law carte-Blanche, two fingers up to common decency and nothing is done to them, it’s extremely frustrating and leaves us with no sense of fair play at all.

We are in Brighton at the minute and saw them all yesterday. Would be an ideal place for an Aire I’ve got to say. If they form a club I might join them as they get all the best locations and for free. We are at the Caravan & Motorhome Club site which is very good but much further out of the town.

I took the title of this thread seriously and got dead excited. What a great spot for an aire!
So if a group of motorhomers parked up and said they were travellers would we get away with it?
I guess it would have to be a group as travellers don't seem to park up alone...

Years ago we was looking for a parking spot in Paris near the Boi de Boulogne about 2am I saw lots of caravans and parked with them. As we were closing the blinds we realised they were travellers and lots of them were sleeping outside under blankets. Needless to say we moved on
