Jobs in the MH

My tasks involve driving it parking it filling it emptying in turning the gas on or off plugging in or unplugging the ehu then name a few.
Amanda’s includes securing all cupboards, doors, drawers, making sure rattling things are well packed, loose items put some where secure and opening and.closing of windows and skylights.
So this morning I could not understand why Amanda was grumpy because I woke here up to close the skylight above the middle of the bed.

I don’t see what the problem is. It’s clearly part of her duties. Did you explain this to avoid this happening again?😁

Simple. Issue her a written warning, citing lack of detail in her duties will not be tolerated and it’s not to happen again. 😜

**Tip**
Keep bag of frozen peas in freezer as it aids relief of black eyes and bruises. 🤪

I have a piece of bright yellow card which I place over the steering wheel it looks from a distance like a steering lock but it has a list of tasks on it.
I have in the past driven the wrong way off my chocks forgetting they were under the wheels, driven with my gas on, not secured external lockers which have then opened when going around a corner, I have seen people on my site who have driven off whilst still connected to ehu, but another big one was forgetting to disarm the tracker and they get quite grumpy if you do this repeatedly.
So my list;
Disarm,
Chocks,
Gas off,
Fridge to 12v,
Ehu away,
Windows closed,
Draws and doors closed,
Shower catch and partition door,
Oven tray, (we take this out and wrap in t towels)

I also have a reversible sticker on the windscreen reminding me which side of the road to drive on and which way around roundabouts.

I have one of those stickers too Jamie. Was great help when driving in france.

What are your duties in the Motorhome? It’s a good topic to discuss on the Podcast. Hope you don’t mind 😀

(Thanks for the pointer JJF)

I let Brigid do everything well except making sure the aerial is down all windows are closed, the toilet is empty ,the fridge is on the right setting ,all the locker doors are closed, the water is topped, up the fresh water tank is full ,the gas is switched of ,the tyre pressures are correct, there enough derv in the tank, clean towels in ,enough toilet roll, the beer locker is full ,the wine and Pernod on tap ,the food cupboard is full with all our supplies, what clothes we need ,is the guitar, ukulele mandolin in ,and after all that we’re ready to go ,she’s a very busy woman ,I’m that scatterbrained I’ve seen us driving of without me 🤪🚐 ps unhooked from the mains electric

When we come home it takes about 20 mins to unload.

When setting off it can take hours!

Some jobs done day before, filling water tank, clothes, non perishable foods etc with fridge stuff going in last. tablets, sterling if going North.
We do leave some food stuffs in MH... often visit that wee shop in the driveway when we run out of something in house.
One of us will rustle up a few meals, (ok usually Nigel!) put in freezer part of fridge with one in fridge for meal on arrival. Also flask of hot water for quick cuppa midway to destination.
He carries out food and clothes and I put them away.
Like everyone else we have a card behind steering wheel with last minute checks....feel like an air hostess.
And don’t forget to click TV back.

Even with lists, what have you left behind?
Sitting at ferry waiting to board, I am looking out at people chatting, I see a lady with her keys on lanyard around her neck...uh oh...my keys are still hanging up at home! We organised for someone to pick up and met them a week later.
