Old newspaper is handy for crockery and pots and pans and crumpled up is useful for spaces to stop things sliding about.

We always take the tv down, In case it rips the bracket off the wall.

the bracket does have a securing clip but I don’t trust it with the weight.

Ref TV, I bought a bracket in Tescos but I have seen them on Ebay, This has a tapering foot that has a clip to fix into the base screwed into the cabinet. The TV is uncliped and stowed to travel.

I've bought a few lengths of grey pipe- lagging foam tube, then cut various lengths slightly oversize, to jam vertically and/or horizontally to hold items in place
Very handy...and cheap.
Apparently, they can also be used to lag pipes!

We have a few of these light spring loaded curtain poles that do the same job. Handy for keeping crockery & tinned goods where they belong..

As for the OP's original question, do you have a pic of your TV and bracket? It'd be interesting to know what your working with.

When I put my tv back I have a bungee cord which I clip round it ,never moves also put paper napkins between the plates stops them slipping and making noise

A matress I bought in ikea was rolled up by two velcro straps when i bought it.
I screwed the strap,in the middle,to the wooden wall behind the tv,
Just bring each end around the tv and fasten together
You could make your own strap and stitch velcro at each end.
