Heading to All Together Now in a few weeks. I'm new to the campervaning life this year and have been staying in campsites. Has anyone any tips they could give me for taking the van to a festival.

Please allow me to chip in a few tips which might help. There mightn't be any hook up so if you have say, an I-Pad you could download a few programmes from the BBC, (other broadcasters are available), and it's not a power-hungry device which is chargeable from USB. Not sure what toilet facilities might be like but you might consider after a pee just getting a quick spray from a Cillit Bang type bottle down the pan to avoid filling the cassette too quickly. Bring a pair of wellies, the low type, handy to always have in the van.

You already have most things in your camper.

For walking around the festival:

Rug Sack - which should contain:
Ice Packs
Beer :D
Bog Roll (in case the portaloo has none)
Hand sanitizer (in case it has ran out and you need to visit a portaloo)

Also carry (unless you are really good at standing for three days:

A camping Chair, cheap and light weight.

Never forget:

Wellies
Wet coat
Waterproof boots/shoes

Thank you for your kind responses. Anyone have any experience of restrictions on gas cylinders.

It's a bit of a box ticking exercise for insurance I reckon and we've never been asked to remove them or otherwise.

I have witnessed once in 20 years of festivals someone being asked to hide one that was connected to a BBQ.

It's a bit like the no knives and no glass, motorhomes are full of them.

It is more aimed at tenters.

Not having had any direct experience I can only say that it would appear that the gas cylinder thing is only for those that are camping and wishing to use cylinders in the open air.
Motorhomes and campervans have certified gas systems on board so there should not be a problem.

My logic is once the gas cylinder is strapped into its own locker and is part of a certified fitted system, they can sod off.
With the above, I can legally drive anywhere.
As said before it's aimed at tents and also guy who have thrown a mattress into a commercial van.

Just to add.
As far as I am aware.
When someone questions an safety report or an engineering report, they must demonstrate that they are qualified to do so.
