Robbie, I've got the Honda 10i and its an excellent bit of kit. The 2 gives lots of more power and they are very quiet. Have used mine in various places and there has never been a problem. That the reason I don't have a Solar Panel as the batteries can be topped up very quickly. I would give the Honda full marks but they are expensive. It's the old saying I suppose - you get what you pay for. I wouldn't be without mine. Just wish I had got the 2 though!

We dont have one but I do know a lad that does. He uses his for a trade stand at car boot sales and I can tell you this, I was blown away over how quiet his little honda genny is...

If you feel the need for a generator for the motorhome Honda is just as good as they come

I have used an older version than that one but can say it was quiet.
Here is the official blurb where they say it runs as 52db.

I have a Honda 2.0i converted to run on gas. I'll bring it with me on Saturday to the Halloween MadHouse if anyone wants to hear it running.

The genny in my folks camper is an older honda unit like this one. I'm not sure if its the exact model number. I must take it out and see if it runs. All I remember about it also runs pretty quiet and it's bloody heavy.

My dad told me a story about a friend of his that had the exact same genny. They were wildcamping some place over by tarbert one night, watching telly, enjoying their evening when the lights & telly went off. He figured it had run out of petrol... but sure as you've guessed, when he went outside, he saw his genset being thrown into the back of a van and away off down the road...

Whatever genset you buy, make sure you buy a heavy lock and cable!!!

Thanks for all the info, seems the Honda are a great job. I liked the idea of one being quiet and easy on petrol. Looking forward to seeing the gas conversion though :)
