So I see Aldi are selling inflatable dinghies and kayaks this Sunday. I’m planning to pick up one of these. It’s a 3 person inflatable dinghy for €50. An Aldi boat for €50 euro, what could go wrong? Anyway, that’s not what I’m looking to discuss, so you sailing aficionados can stop gasping and trying to persuade me to spend lots of money on a big brand. I don’t do any water sports, so to dip my toes in a little easy paddling once or twice a year sounds like a bit of fun.
So I wonder if any of you craicers can suggest good spots for paddling or kayaking. Preferably not the sea, unless there are some very safe coves you know about. The only places springing to mind for me right now are on Lough Ree, such as Lough Ree East campsite and Hodson bay. Lough Derg new Killaloe is another possible option. Lough Corrib, I’m really not sure about as I have heard there are strong currents.
Any more suggestions?
