Driveaway awning at festivals

Hi Folks,

Apologies if this has been asked before. I attempted a search for key terms but couldn’t find anything. Wondering what is the reality for festivals with regards drive away awnings/tents. Some festivals like electric picnic or all together Now say they don’t allow them but in people’s experience do they turn a blind eye to them? Or is it bad etiquette to put them up even if the festival turns a blind eye?

I've seen Gazebo's being turned away, never a drive away awning and thats in 20 years of festivals.

Thanks Ally. Excuse my ignorance but does a gazebo not look quite similar to some drive away awnings? Or is a gazebo open on all sides? For drive away awning I had in mind a vango tent style one

Usually cheapo Gazebos from Poundland or the likes are frowned upon, they blow away, they get wrecked and they get left behind.

You'll find some of the rules for most festivals are a box ticking exercise and rarely apply to us. Rules such as no glass or knives doesn't really work in a Motorhome..

Gazebos Awnings are pitched all over the place at Body & Soul.

What about gas cylinders? Is that box ticking too when a festival says no gas? Or do they really check?

I've never been checked for gas, although last year, or was it the year before at Stendhal..... Some eegit ran around asking that all cylinders be kept out of sight. When he was told that nearly every van has two of them he said something like, "oh Christ keep that to yourself."

just show some consideration when it comes to putting out your awning. Last festival i was at i had to move furniture to get at my cassette to empty it.
