We arrived yesterday afternoon in glorious weather having failed to get a space in Dungarven. Tramore was very busy with a lot of traffic and we had to wait until one of the cars occupying the camper van spaces moved. The new allocated bays were originally used for disabled parking and the cars using the spaces yesterday were blue badge holders even though there were disabled bays available across the road. To the rear of the parking bays is a skateboard park which was busy all afternoon and evening and very noisy with a lot of youths hanging about. We found this very unsettling and later having gone to bed several youths threw a heavy traffic cone against the side of our van giving us a fright and causing some minor damage. A half hour later around 2.30am 5 youths came into the skateboard park and started messing around, shouting playing football and using their scooters. I ask myself what are their parents doing? We felt very unsafe and moved at around 3.30am. Whilst I commend the local council for marking out campervan bays for overnight parking, I question their location. Even some of the local Council workers clearing up this morning questioned why put camper vans beside a skateboard park. Given the events of last night and the parking location we will not be back to Tramore.
