Craic Meets are Expensive

We took a drive to Donaghey's Motorhome's last Saturday morning when we were up at the Craic Meet in Dunfanaghy. We went to look at the new Carado V 132 and V337 models. They seemed to fit the bill having large rear garages and fixed beds etc. Nice van's indeed and within our budget. The V337 got the vote and we went in search of Gerry to have a chat. We then strolled past a Compass Avantgarde 175, No rear garage and no fixed bed....Everything I didn't want, Or so I thought....

The minute we stepped inside was a revelation....Huge lounge with pull out sofa bed's ( or use them as single's ) Full size fridge, Microwave, Double oven etc, I was blown away by the space, she loved the kitchen area and when we seen the bathroom....That was it....We wanted it. We have been in all the Dealer's around Ireland looking at gorgeous van's but this layout was the perfect fit for us....Just loved it from the first minute inside. Anyway, We took it for a test drive and it sealed the deal. We put a deposit down and will take delivery in January 2020. We are so excited and cant wait for the day we pick it up :-)

I sold my current van, a 1999 Adriatik to my sister and brother in law but still have use of it till then....Thanks guy's....They plan on joining MHCC also

Brilliant. Well done. The front half is very similar to ours, albeit about 20 years more modern. I hope you have many happy memories in it

Another point that sold me on it was the 10 year Water Ingress and Structural Warranty....They must be confident in the build quality to offer that length of time

Thats a nice guarantee, does it mean ten years of driving back to Donaghey's for habitation checks though? not that there is anything wrong with Donaghey's, far from it! but you ain't exactly next door.

I'd say it does....I know it';s a bit of a spin alright but what can ya do. They give a bit of leeway to the time frame of yearly checks....Could be worse place's to spend a weekend :-) Will be calling on your services also for a good underbody waxoyling

Meant to say that Compass Motorhomes give the warranty...

Well done you pair, you both make good use of the van so in my book that’s money well spent.
Enjoy.

I did have a look around Anchorpoint Motorhomes last weekend and walked away with some serious camper envy. Thanks for stirring that up again John. 🤨 .

Looks a beauty well done!

Thanks Jason. We were looking to buy used but the price of 10 - 12 year old campers is crazy.

Sorry for stirring it up for you again Jason :-)

Congratulations on the new van John, wear well. No better pair to make good use of your new toy. As for an annual trip to Donegal for habitation check I'm sorry but struggling to feel sympathy - as you have discovered it is one of Ireland's hidden secrets - loads to see and do. Best of luck to you both with your new holiday home.
