Any one know if there is overnight parking at Birkenhead?

I might be getting the ferry (day sailing) and it would be good if I could park up for the night at the terminal - it would be good to park up and make a start first thing in the morning rather than have to drive off in the dark.

Hi,not sure about birkenhead but i have stayed at Chester carpark several times on the way to the boat, costs about 2 pounds to overnight and the best spots are along the river but there are only 4-5 bays which are level,it would be about a 30-40 minute drive to birkenhead.Have stayed at the weekends and never any bother usually 2 or 3 motorhomes there at any time,15 minute walk to center of Chester.

Good luck

They have a large carpark outside the terminal, plenty of room to stop over, Iv seen others do it with no bother, & the terminal is always open so you can use the toilets etc etc...

Yeah you can stay at the Terminal without any problems. I've stayed there once and never again as their is constant noise and banging of trucks all night. I neve closed an eye the whole night.

Docks can be a nightmare to over night, I"ve done it in trucks, vans and, at Portsmouth, the motor home. Jack is right, constant noise and banging from tugs, trucks and ships. There"s a service station on the motorway into B"head, always seen a few m"homes and plenty of trucks overnighting, I don"t know the cost (bound to be one) and it"s about 15/20 mins. to the dock.

Yes I was a bit worried about the noise- stayed at the harbour in Saint Margarets Hope once because I was getting an early morning ferry - I forgot that boat keeps its engine running all night!!!!

Oscar, Chester sounds good any directions as to where that car park is
