Rooflight problem

Hi all, I have a 09 Knaus Sun Ti on a Renault Master . The rooflight motor is giving problems, making a juddering sound on opening and being jerky. I understand from my dealer that the motor for this model is no longer manufactured and that they do not have any spare parts to repair it ( if that is possible) The alternative is to install another rooflight which would involve cutting the roof and cost between €1100/1200.
Has anybody ideas as to where to source a new/ reconditioned motor. I know I could try Knaus in Germany, but I would like to try in Ireland first.
Any help/ ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Regards to all.

Have you the motor off ?
If so, then it may be repairable as most of that stuff is generically replaceable.
I’ll drop you a PM with details.

That juddering sound seems to me mechanical ,say the runners or screw mechanism operating the struts for opening the rooflight needing a bit of lubrication ,motors run on bearings and if one is dodgey then it is a squeaky or rubbing sound and if you get it it out now you can replace the bearings before you do damage to the windings, Thats if it is the motor.

I would also be following this line of thinking a juddering and jerking to me sounds more like some runner or hinge part needs lubrication or a mounting loose which is allowing the frame to move. If it was caught by the wind something may have been strained. can you disconnect the motor and see if the movement is free without the motor.

I had similar problem in 2015 but got motor from Leisureshop direct . The roof light is a different story and is no longer available. Contacted dealers in UK , Germany, Holland France but could get nothing .Also contacted Knaus and offically could do nothing as part had been discontinued a number of years ago. However the storeman located 1 on ebay in Germany to quote him the last 1 in Europe.
A larger 1 was not an option for me , if I did I would have had to lose my air conditioning unit.

A word of warning to all Knaus Sun Ti owners be very very carefull with your Remis rooflight

Be cautious with that firm, I looked and as I suspected the item is out of stock with a 4 to 8 week lead time. They get very mixed reviews on other forums. If an item is in stock then they seem to be fine, but lots of complaints about money taken for items not in stock, then a lot of bother getting delivery or refund. Partly understandable I suppose as they are dependant on a 3rd party, but allegedly their customer service does not inspire confidence.

My sky lights sometimes judder and I find it's the slide that needs a little grease or vaseline.
