Some friends of ours are just back from a couple of nights in a remote spot called Keem strand, in Achill, West Mayo.

Two other MH's there the same weekend so they felt very safe and had a great craic.

It might be of interest to some of you who are up in that neck of the woods?

apologises for resurrecting this thread but was at Keem Strand last night - a wild and windy night thought we were going to blown over a couple of times! Beautiful spot normally but following the big storm a couple of weeks ago there are a fair amount of stones from the beach blown across the road. The only really decent bit of parking is right at the far end up near Cathedral Rocks - thats where we parked last night thinking we would be away from the wind LOL big mistake!

Had a similar experience last August there….really did think the van would blow over so ended up moving at 4am into Mulranny to a slightly more sheltered spot then an hour later had to move to Newport

We often speak about 'the night in Achill' …. beautiful spot but like anywhere only if you get the weather. Westport on the river parked up near the Garda Station or even down the quay if not too windy we find grand.

All that area is a lovely part of the world though!!
