Hi all , anything we should know about Kilbroney Park ? Are the hookups at the back of the pitches ? Should we bring bikes ?We"re there 27th/28th Oct;(any other "craicers" there ?) me,herself, 2 teenagers and the dog, we"ve been to many other forest parks but, never there. I know some pitches are on a hill and some are grass, I"ve booked a hardstanding, level pitch ( I hope!) as we"re a bit heavy. Looking forward to a few "toots" and a lot of walking.

Bikes are handy in kilbroney if you are going to the village.

Not too many level pitches. Do they know the size of your RV Paul.

Last year when I was at the classic car show, there were a couple American rv's there so I don't think it's a problem size wise. As mark says the bikes are handy to get in and out of the village, the on site cafe if its open at this time of year, does nice grub at a reasonable price and there is a decent playground for the teenagers to go and sulk at while telling the world that they hate everything

Only those that have had the misfortune of having teenagers really know how true it is.

Paul,

This is my favourite forest park - and its great cause you can book on line. The hook ups are to the back of the pitch and the pitches are extra-long and if memory serves me right I think each pitch has its own water tap (or our favourite pitch 37 has) LOL. The site has a cafe, tennis courts, exercise machines (at the side of the cafe), play park for kids, washing machines, great toilets and showers, a pleasant walk into the village, great walks for the dog, and the best security of any campsite - you can only access the campsite via an access pad and there are security guards on site all night, so no rowdies (so no craicers LOL). There is always a large brown American rv on site and he has plenty of room. Not sure if you would use the bikes, it is quite hilly.

We won’t be there as we will be having Halloween at Shanogue and dressing up.

:D Thanks for the replies Peeps. Yes I think the bikes will be a good idea, and they know how big we are, not THAT big  , 30ft and about 9 ton, a baby really  One of these weekends we"d love to go to Shinogue and put some faces to the names. I know what you mean , Fat Controller, teenagers can be a pain ! Ours aren"t too bad tho" Chris, our eldest, is autistic (+other stuff) so we have other issues, c"est la vie.. :-) As long as Alex, the youngest, can through himself down a stupidly steep hill on his bike, he"ll be happy :o Here"s wishing us all a happy, problem free Halloween weekend .
