Conversion requirements

Hi, so I'm guessing this has already come up but I'm just looking at where to start. I've a t4 high top that I want to convert to a camper. Before I start putting money (and sweat) into it I just want to make sure I'll be able to get it on the road at the end.
I've read quite a bit online but nothing seems definitive.
Who can I speak to to make sure my planned conversions will be suitable for reregistering it as a camper van?
Also what is the process?
The guidelines seem vague, just that it needs cooking, sleeping, storage and removable table etc.
Also has anyone had trouble insuring a conversion after reclassification?
I'm itching to get started on it but I don't want to have my heart broken down the road.....
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a disc somewhere I bought where a guy converted a T4 and documented / photographed it. I'll see if I can find it and you can have it.

Have a look at Kiravans.co.uk they supply everything you might need to do a conversion if you browse their website you will see lots of excellent stuff and get some ideas of what is available and can be done if you go to their Resource Centre they have, how to videos and blogs
They are also good to deal with.

Thanks all.
I'm going to try ring an engineer tomorrow to see if the plans I have will be suitable. Got the numbers from a link off here. Good to finally see a start. I'll have a look at those links. Get some inspiration.
