CVRT vs MOT

We're looking for our next motorhome and looking at UK & Northern Ireland, how do the CVRT and MOT compare?
Generally if the vehicle has a valid CVRT the roadworthiness is not under too much question, can the same be said of the MOT?
How much confidence do people have in the MOT?

While I'm asking, what's the equivalent in Germany?

Thanks

READ THIS a CVRT mightn't be worth much, it's a horrifying tale.

NI is UK, although different testing.

An MOT in NI is a very intense test done in a testing centre run by the Government and is well relied on.

However an MOT in GB done in Garages, where if someone knows someone...... well make your own mind up.

It can depend on the exact tester you get in NI on the day sometimes and I don’t think it is a full test of road worthiness but it has always been fairly thorough every time I have gone through it. Last year I was failed for having only kph on my Speedo and not miles per hour so that is an indication of how strict they can be. Nothing to do with road worthiness in that case but by the book alright.

Here are the steps involved anyway where applicable.

The cvrt should throw up any structural defects, along with any obvious mechanical problems. It won’t tell you if the engine or gearbox is about to go. If it isn’t visible it won’t be spotted, but I think that’s the same in NI. The mot in Britain is ok for wiping your backside, as I have found out in the past. IMO

With the amount of cars driving around with non legal number plates it makes me ask ,what else are they not doing.
The insurance company's are been given an easy out one of these days they are going to cancelled a policy because the vehicle is not road legal.
Same as driving around with a light out.
The small print says, you have to have your vehicle road legal at all times.
