Just a few pictures of my Chevrolet G20 1993 with small block 350, 5.7 litre V8. I have had it almost a year now and although its far from economical, I have enjoyed many a mile in it. It has a dayvan layout ie 4 captains chairs and a rear sofa which electrically slides into a large comfortable double bed, mains hook up, seperate heat and aircon in the rear, privacy blinds, mood lighting and tv dvd etc. Its small but I mostly use it to attend american car shows and it has plenty of grunt to tow my firebird behind. I also have a free standing awning which I tend to use a lot although I am as yet a porta potty virgin.

Its mechanically sound around 85000 miles and has only a few small blisters in the usual spot below the rear window. Back end is whirring so needs either bearings or ring and pinion but they're not that expensive from the states (but the postage is :bandit: )
However I do have a loud stereo which drowns out the whirring so I'll probably just keep driving until the back axle passes me.
I have been reading about your Chevy on Gascc. Best of luck with the restoration.

I haven't attended ANY car shows yet Paul. I only took ownership of the rv back in August of this year and before I put a tyre to the road, I have a LOT of work to do!!

We'd like to have it ready by summer of next year but time & finances will tell...

For info on US car shows in ireland I'd recommend you look up the guys on Gascc.ie or CAMIv8 forums. They usually have updates on the car show scene...

The lads here mentioned a potential american RV gathering at next years "Kilbeggan show" which We'd be up for if we're in good shape by then... 8-)

Hi PaulH

The main American show is Kilbeggan (I think you were parked up 3 or 4 vehicles from me last April). Another great one is the Gascc event in Cork. I normally try to make a long weekend or a week if I am off work at this as there is great bands and bbq along with great company and craic, normally held early June. Other shows include Terenure, Trim, Swords, the monthly Cars and Coffee in Dublin, various charity runs for Paul Newmans Barretstown Trust, Portlaois indoor show later this month and Santa Pod euronationals in Sept which is well attended by American Muscle Cars Ireland (AMCI) and loads of other smaller mainly vintage events around the country. When a club decide to attend an event they usually post on their facebook. MAAC, AMCI, CAMIv8 and Gascc all have fb as well as club sites.

Paul
