Bitter Sweet

I picked up the new motor home yesterday.

I knew it would be a tight fit in the driveway but the measurements checked out.

Anyway, caught 2 of the windows on the way in and scratched.

I can live with that for now.

But the real kicker was doing this on the letterbox when turning :(

So quick question...

how do I repair this ? Can I use normal filler or are there special products ?

Is it a professional job and if so how much roughly ?

I have gaffer tape over it for now to keep the wet out.

Any advice anyone can give would be much appreciated.

I'm so embarrased, i've never hit my car or the previus van but do this within hours of owning her

very sorry to see that.

I would suggest you take it to someone who knows what to do.

I have seen people add a grill or battery box type door to hide things like this but better to ask an expert.

Swanner, I asked a mate this morning who done this to his caravan on his gate post. He used ordinary car filler and placed a large sticker over it.

OK. Cheers guy's.

I'm going to have a go at filling and sanding it and see what it looks like.

If i'm not happy that it's 100% water tight i'll take it to a pro.

I can probably get a sign made up to cover it then.

I had only ever planned on keeping this one for a year so I want to maintain as much of it's resale value as possable.

Cheers Mayo1.

Repaired it last week and it came up pretty good.

All I need now is to get sticker strips made up to run the length of the van.

Overkill I know but they'll look like they should be their and will cover the repair.
