Two Motorhomes parked up on Portstewart at the weekend down by the promenade, the two of them were taking up seven spaces as they parked sideways along the parking bays.

Not helping our cause at all!

I was there on Saturday evening around 5pm and there was only one van at that time, which was parked across about 4 bays. I was a good boy and only used one bay right at the end (luck more than design). We went for a coffee and did a bit of shopping and on returning the offending vehicle was away, we left about 6pm. I can understand why people do it as there is nowhere in Portstewart to park a motorhome, but as you say Ally it doesn't help the cause.

We visit Portstewart a lot in our motorhome and we always try and park along the promenade towards the convent and just past the childrens park and outdoor pool where you can reverse easily into one space depending on your length of vehice there usually is a bit of overhang onto the pavement. The pavement is wider here and i would prefer to do this and walk a little so that we are only taking up one space.

As you say taking up spaces just cos you can, does not help us blend in with the other vehicles

last time we were there we parked behind the main street shops in a free car park with large bays for coaches.
