Thats smack dab in the centre of the city. I would NOT recommend overnighting anywhere near the centre of cork city in your camper.

I'd recommend Blarney. Its around 6 miles form Cork city centre so you'd need to get a cab to and from the function venue.

Theres a very reasonable campsite on the outskirts of Blarney which is open until end of October.

Blarney Campsite is excellent. You can get a bus from Blarney village in the evening to Cork City and you will be left off very close to The Oliver Plunkett Bar. You will need a taxi home then. It will cost about €25 from city to Blarney campsite. However, if you wish you could park up at Penrose Wharf near St Patricks Church on Lr. Glanmire Rd. It is just away from traffic and doesn't have much foot passage. You are only 5 mins walk then from the bar. having said that there is no guarantee that the van will be safe. Its just like any other city but the area I said is away from the centre and is relatively safe. I have seen the odd van parked there in the past.

Why not give the Tourist Office a call at 021 4255100, They probably will not be able to help but at least it will bring the requirement to their attention.
We regularly call to tourist offices and request info on motorhome overnight parking facilities, some times we are directed to 'unofficially official' places, but our main aim is to show the demand exists, it's all gris to the mill in the campaign for 'Aire' type facilities.

Thanks Guys for your input, Blarney sounds great, The only problem is it is closed after the end of October and we are going early November.

You could try the the viaduct bar it is on the bandon road about 1km from bishopstown but park behind the bar rather than the front car park ring them on 021 4346928 I have seen a lot of campers parked there over the years it is then a short taxi / bus ride into town

The Viaduct is a great friendly pub anytime I have visited. The Gascc annual American car show and bbq is held there each June and Ive always been made to feel welcome and have enjoyed the craic whilst there.

Blarney Garda Station is situated beside the Castle. Its a prefab as the other one burned down. You can park the van there. It will be very safe. The odd tourist do it. And November will be quite. Call to the station and ask or give them a ring ( office after 9am) - 021 4385469. Explain situation.

Just back from a great Night in Cork, As suggested we phoned the Viaduct bar and the Manager said we were welcome to park overnight. However when we got there we concidered it a bit far from the city center, so we tried pembrose wharf but could not find a suitable place to park and at this stage it was getting late. so at the sugestion of a friend we eventually Parked over night in the Wilton shopping center car park. Thanks to all for your input and the manager of the Viaduct Bar.
