Knaus (Tabbert GmbH) is recalling a total of 754 (25 in UK) Knaus Sky TI motorhomes, model year 2012, in Europe. The affected vehicles were produced between April 2011 and June 2012.
It was discovered that the front roof cover with “Knaus” logo that is situated above the windscreen is not sufficiently secured. In rare circumstances, this front roof cover might come loose and fall off while driving.
On the affected vehicles, the front roof cover was fixed with one fastening bracket at the center of the roof area and then screwed on with three screws. As soon as this issue came to light, Knaus Tabbert GmbH modified its production process by introducing additional fastening brackets to add stability, so that no further vehicles will be affected.
For all affected Sky TI motorhomes, Knaus Tabbert GmbH is taking remedial action by carrying out a recall. Knaus motorhome dealers all over Europe have been informed and provided with repair instructions detailing how to replace the existing fastening bracket with three new brackets
