I know a lot of you don't use your showers. For those that do, have you tried heating it on gas and electric at the same time?

Does it make much difference? I am going to try it and see as 10 litres is not a lot of water for one shower never mind two.

You have to adapt how you use the water, turn it off rather than leave it running like you would at home.

Yep the only way, rinse, soap and then rinse and very little water is used.

quickest way is gas only then change to electric.
we have 2 settings, 40 and 60 degrees
we found 40 degrees was one shower then wait 20 mins before second shower
we since found if we use 60 degree setting we can both have a shower one after the other as you use mostly cold water to cool temp down

you need to learn mhome shower technique
water on rinse
water off lather
water on rinse.

No you didn't :P

Well............ was wondering if it was on Gas and Electric how quick it would heat up if the water went cold, would it be nearly instant, but it seems not.

Always heat it to 60 ourselves with the same thought, more cold needed. But why is it quicker to heat on gas then change to electric? gotta be faster with both on surely, or does one override the other?

gas is just quicker, electric seems to be able to maintain temp ok but slow to get there.

Deirdre should be our expert on showers and give us a live demo of technique !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it's probably slower on electric due to the amps, same way as you can't use a household kettle on site mains.

Ally..... For those wildcamping diehards, one trick you learn very fast is to use as little water as possible, and it has been proven on many an occasion, that a good shower can be taken with 1 litre of water.
Yes, one of those wee drinking bottles, filled up with warm water from the kettle...., Soak... Soap and shampoo...... Rinse , then rinse again.
Its amazing how far a little goes...
Maybe you're just too used to your creature comforts and the new van lol
Btw, health to enjoy

Cheers :)

Been using the shower in Motorhomes and Caravans for a while now, the query was, how much difference does it make with both gas and electric on at same time.

Festival for 6 days, four people in a Motorhome, you soon get used to not wasting water :-) I even used solar showers last year and showered outside :)

that must have frightened alot of people ......... i would use the gas only as it keeps heating the cold water that is flowing into the boiler
