Something that might be of interest to member north of the border.
Motorhome Craic Club (MHCC)is a recognised and exempted club in Northern Ireland, which means we can create MHC Certified Locations (CLs) .
If you have a piece of land that you would like legally to create a CL, the president of MHCC, Ally, can have a chat with you about requirements, and issue a legal cert for you to have a 5 van site, Craic CL , certified location.
Something to consider.

I am in the process of knocking down a old chicken house to replace it with a new sectional barn, this will allow me to have a 60 x 40 foot enclosed concrete yard in front of it which I was considering allowing some Motorhomes to use, it would have water, electric grey and possibly black waste facilities, it’s a few months away yet but. Also in the process of building a Garden room with outside covered BBQ area and large grass area which could also be available to use.

I don’t know if there would be a demand as I am in a rural area between Ballymoney and Armoy, 2 miles from the dark hedges, 3 miles from Armoy, 9 miles from Giants causeway. Nearest bar is the Scenic Inn. There is a limited bus service going to Ballymoney and Ballycastle with a stop on demand going past. There is good cycling routes and a nice walk along a a lane opposite down to the River Bush (300m away) with a foot bridge leading to a further laneways and towards Stranocum Village. There is fishing points along the river but subject to licences.

Good to know that I could legally have a MHC CL site

That’s a great idea.... I’ve also a stop for about 6 vans too, water/cassette emptying/grey/trash and 6 amp EHU....
I’m opening it to MHCC members free of charge, with a donation if desired to help with the electric bill.

The beauty of the CL model is that members are kind of vetted before they arrive onto site.
By vetting, I mean that they are members of a club.
This in turn helps the owner of the location to legitimately turn away undesirable tenants.
I wonder, what the position of Irish Co Councils towards the CL model?

Best not ask !

I’ll treat them like the wife !
I’ll seek forgiveness rather than ask permission !
No point in 2 arguments when 1 will suffice!

The CL certificates are starting to be issued once the locations have been checked, after all no point in having official legal status if it doesn’t meet the grade!

There is a list of the CL’s being compiled and this will be made available to club members as this is something the club is investing both time and money in, similar to the various caravan and camping clubs with their own locations
