How do you guys do concerts with a motorhome? Do you park in the carpark and go to the concert, or do you pitch somewhere at a campsite and find your way to the concert grounds, or what is the best way of doing this?
My wife and I are keen to go to the concert, and being new motorhome owners, we obviously want to take the motorhome with.

Music Festivals usually include camping as an extra and some events its a case of making your own arrangements

While on the subject of concerts and festivals, does anyone have experience with parking around the 3Arena (corner of North Wall Quay & East Wall Rd) in Dublin? Just looking at our options for upcoming concerts there. Once again, it would be ideal to take the motorhome, park closeby, and sleep over after the concert.

Awkward mostly finding somewhere to park for concerts, we don't do any now, well very little, and just stick to music festivals that allow Motorhome Parking. You should check out Vantastival if you havent already.

for Kilkenny, I would book the campsite now and keep a check on it next year
For the 3Arena there was some discussion about a filling station in the dock area that you can stay at over night, But I,m not sure about wheather you can leave the motorhome unattended, would be worth giving them a call to find out.

Enjoy the concert.
As for parking, Treegrove campsite is probably the best option. Most carparks in Kilkenny are barriered.
However, if there are few craicers going, Kilkenny Rugby club, could be approached as a possible overnight venue. It's located about 1.5 km out the old Waterford road.
Anyone who is using Treegrove, will be get a taxi anyway.
Just a suggestion,
Malcolm

O'Loughlinn Gaels GAA club is right beside the venue and they've always accommodated us in the past when we've rang ahead, spent money in the bar etc. There might be a nominal car parking charge of €5 or whatever as they normally do when matches are on. It's locked up at night too with a pedestrian entrance. Great location. Might be worth a call now to the club house to come to an arrangement if you wanted to have a meet for members. We won't make it unfortunately but I'd say it will be a cracking gig.

I bloody wish I was. On the first week we were away, we got word that a rental property was being vacated,,,,, after 13.5 years. So a bit of a scramble along with the backlog after being away. Can’t see me getting away at all this month. Was meant to go to British GP. That’s knocked on the head too. ☹☹

Ah thats a pity Daffy.

Was tyalking to a Neil Young nut who lives on the street said he was brilliant every time he seen him....Not expecting Dylan to be brilliant, or even good....It's the fact of seeing them live will be good enough....Should be a good weekend :-)

Understandable. Kilkenny is a great town. Wouldn’t call it a city in any sense now. Sorry Kilkenny people. Quite touristy. But a good vibe for a night out or a day out

It has been a few years since we have been in Treegrove but the owner set us with a local taxi who was spot on with our bookings.
A taxi on time ,makes a good night out, better.

Just back as well today after the gig. Neil Young was amazing. We stayed in the general parking beside the Orchard House about 10mins walk from Nowlan park and ended up parking right next to the camper I previously owned. it was 5 euro parking for the day or 10 euro if you were staying the night. We were able to use the toilets in the bar and it was handy for a few cold pints. Great weekend.
