Newry Council have a survey live at the moment asking for views on off street parking. The final section asks for comments & I have notes that a few spaces for Motorhomes would be greatly valued given Newry’s location an the amount of Motorhomes that pass they town, especially at weekends but have nowhere to park even for an hour or two during the day.

A couple of overnight spots should also be considered. The survey applies to the whole council area of course so Newcastle & Downpatrick etc can be selected as the town you use most. I don’t think Motorhomes are on their radar at all as part of the survey but if anyone wants to help put it on their radar. ..

I suggested a space or two beside Baegnal’s castle in Newry as it is right beside the tourist info centre/museum and commuters would not use that car park so no risk of someone grumbling about car spaces being lost to make way for Motorhomes and the rest of the car park is Lidl who I don’t think would mind the extra business. It is fairly central to the town too.
