The bar was quite far away, and if I didn’t know where I had parked the van I may not have been able to spot it either.

Alky, there is a perfect example of when the saying can be used .
Jami! "Ah stop would ye" your doing me head in with all your holiday stuff and we stuck here in the pissin rain :lol:
I like the picture you're suggesting bar,outside,drink, Sunshine ,heat,view over the water.

Calm down it’s not all a bed of roses you know, there was only 2 bars open on my 3 mile coastal walk. And one only had 1664, the other was better with Mahou.🤣
