ACSI 2019

Got a reminder little while back for renewing ACSI 2019 books.
Got another reminder again it needed to be paid soon...it was direct debit but we have a new credit card since last year.
Two years ago a few of us were still waiting well into New Year for our books.

We get the combi subscription Cost €20.70 inc postage....can pay for itself in a few days...if you travel in the discount time of year...it is my reading material on holidays!

....though I know many wild camp and go to Aires.

I wonder how many Irish campsites will have the discount Camping Card this year.?
There were 16 in 2017 and 12 in 2018.

I have the 2018 card and I’ll get the 2019 books and card in Spain over the course of my hols.
As for Irish sites in the guide I can’t see many will bother as it costs a minimum of €840 to go in the guide to then give a discount on top. Doesn’t work for me.

I found ACSI own website are very slow to deliver the books directly to the customer.
I’ve used Vicarious books in the past and found them much quicker.
But like Jamie, I will pick up the 2019 books directly from a supplier in Spain this time.

I often wondered if the sites in it had to pay for it. That’s a steep amount and a site owner would need to draw quite a lot of custom to make a profit? Nothing for nothing I suppose nowadays.

For the last couple of years I just pop into Anchorpoint and pick up the Books, no hassle.

Got my copy of the 2019 acsi book in the post today from vicarious books,there are 14 participating sites in the republic of Ireland and none in Northern Ireland whatsoever .

Given site operators attitude to Motorhomes and innovation it is hardly surprising there are no sites in the discount scheme in N. Ireland.

Got mine yesterday direct from ACSI, they seem to have got the delivery in early December sorted out as last years also came about this time. It was posted from France so assume postage is cheaper from there than NL

Got mine today as well. I haven’t looked inside yet but I see all sites gone up by a euro. May cut a day or two off the holiday now 🤪

The reality for a site to give the Acsi discount they have pay Acsi €1000 and then give a discount. This does not make sense to smaller operators.

Our new books arrived today posted from Switzerland, first year we have had them in December and not chasing them in Feb when everyone else has received their books.
Just checked how many in Ireland, 14, I don’t remember seeing Cong, Garrettstown House, and Kilcornan.
Most are now €20, few €18.
Apple farm €14 but only in May and Sept, but reasonable price without ACSI and in past they have given you a free bottle of their apple juice. They don’t allow dogs.

Got the guides. One of my favourite sites has gone from 13 to 13 Euro per night. It's pretty basic... so I can't understand how they can justify that...

We're doing 2 trips in 2019 Cork to Santander and Cherbourg to Dublin/Rosslare in April and the same in reverse in August... assuming that IF do finally post a schedule for 2019... eventually.

I think you may have got the figures wrong as it still appears the same in your listing.

Looking at my 2019 books today I noticed that the mini atlas had pages missing and some duplicated. I have emailed looking for a replacement. Just to let you know so you can check to see if others have received incorrect books.

Which pages are missing ? I had a look at mine but I can't see anything obvious .

My ACSI maps fine too, but a few years ago same problem with our BritStops book, the year we went to England.
Fortunately when I phoned while there, we happened to be passing through, and we exchanged faulty with new replacement.

Pages 73-108 are missing. 55-72 & 109-126 are duplicated.

Just used the ACSI card for the first time in Ireland. Cong campsite, €29 reduced to €20 on production of the card. Started to pay for itself even before we go to France in September. Result!

When you apply get their membership card at the same time. can save messing with passports on checking in.
I also deal directly with them.

An the ACSI app is good too, think you can get it if you have bought the CC books.
Take note too of the valid dates eg not necessarily the bank holidays.
in Ireland the discount period can stop last date of school term in June.
In France discount usually goes up till end of first week in July, because they get school holidays later,

We stayed in Cong campsite last weekend but couldn’t get the ACSI rate because it was a bank holiday weekend. I thought €30 euro without EHU a bit steep. But the ACSI rate is good.

So I’m just realising that the ACSI I.D. card expires annually. I’m going to have to apply for another ahead of French trip.
