I too use Stewart's and am pleased with their price and service. Doleman are I hear, a bit more difficult to deal with, but the cost is much the same.

We have it with Dolmen for €299 with club discount, we had a claim in the past and two windscreens with out too much hassle

Which club discount?
I pay 410 to Dolmen for open drive so
myself /Daughter/Son.
Basically anyone 25 to 70
The regular policy will only cover Spouse and one Child.

I'm just after agreeing to buy a campervan today (VW T5! Not the Bongo I'd been thinking of before!) and am a bit in the dark when it comes to clubs, etc! Is the club that was mentioned by Ally up and running? Does that give insurance discounts? I'm based in Cork if that makes a difference?

The mhc (Ally ) Club is not up and running yet.
We are insured through Dolmens and our premium was €344 for 2 drivers and no open driving. For this rate, we had to produce copies of our private car insurance.

Hi there I’m with dolmen until next June. I also was asked for my regular car insurance details, which I intend not to renew. Can I continue with my present camper insurance? And renew again next year if I don’t have a second insurance on my car? Josē

You can renew your camper insurance policy in June, however will out showing a daily car use insurance, the cost of camper insurance could be increased by multiple times.
I am heard of quotes in excess of €2000 been asked for because there was no other insurance provided.
Give Dolmens a ring and they will clarify their position.

I was only asked for my private policy the first time I took out the policy with Dolmen,
If you renew before the policy expires they may not ask you for the car policy or even.mention it,

But in the case of an accident they could ask you then but if it ain't asked for when renewing you are doing nothing wrong,

I also had to send Dolmen a copy of our private car insurance policy when I renewed in August. You can also use a policy on which you are a named driver.
