not really a lot they can do though, unless the council get involved. Which is probably going to happen and ban overnight parking.

they have been fairly quick about taking it down. if they had been slower putting it up, by doing a bit of background first, we would not have annoyed residents.

I think the big difference between overnight parking here verus Europe, is that if you decided to party and bbq into the wee hours in Europe, the local armed copper would knock on more than your door.
While we wouldn't have hugh experience of European aires, we have noticed a police drive by at about 10.30 ish, resulting in most folks packing away their things and bedding down for the night.
I would be very surprised if European reg mh were involved in this racket.
