I bought one of these back in April, I thought that around a fiver no big lose. Pleasantly surprised works with both my laptops HP at 11.1volts and a Lenovo at 20 volts.

The Lenovo is superfussy, won't even charge using an inverter.

So, ended up buying a second one. Only issue I notice is that it heats up a bit if using the laptop whilst trying to charge at the same time.

I mainly use them while travelling between stops.

I have one of those units plus a stabilised 12v unit for the TV and various 12v chargers for phones and tablets.
I've given up on using them all and now rely on a 150w pure sine wave inverter powering the mains sockets when off grid.

Now I just use the original mains chargers and power supplies which came with the stuff, I also run a mains desk fan and sky box off the inverter.

No Problems.

I was pretty sure they wouldn't contain great inners, so not sure in the long run they could cause damage or not. Time will tell :P
