I have a MiFi with 20GB for £14 per month. It's with Three UK and the beauty of that is, it includes GoBinge, which means I can watch as much Netflix as I want and it doesnt come out of my data allowance.
When I'm in Ireland I use a PAYG Three Ireland phone SIM for MiFi.
If you top up with €20 it gives you unlimited data (and calls and texts if you want them) for that month.
The €20 credit can then be used to buy add-ons when the month is up.
Has always worked well for me!
The problem with using a Three UK SIM in Ireland is streaming is throttled and won't transfer at 4G rates.

Folks....in relation to mifi, do you have specific price plans and data allowances from your mobile carrier. Do the likes of vodafone do a mifi plan?
While I don't use a MiFi device as I just tether from my phone, the best solution I've found in ROI is the "all you can eat" plan from Three. €20 per month will get you "unlimited data", it's a prepaid plan too, so if you don't use it don't top it up.
Pro TIP: If you decide to go with this, tell your man at Three that it's for a phone, family member or whatever just don't say that it's for a MiFi or just internet as while they don't block that at all, they don't offer it exclusively for that purpose.

Can be bought on line and in three stores in UK/Northern Ireland. 12GB valid for 12 months.
We use it when abroad and indeed here in Ireland.
One word of warning, when first installed in a MiFi device/phone it needs to be switched on and registered on the three UK network for first use.
Some say they have activated it on a ‘foreign’ network but we took one to France that wasn’t pre installed and it would not work..... when we logged on to the three UK website on return it worked right away.

Just cancelled my 3 12month SIM contract for 12GB per month at £10 per month as I only used about 12 GB for the whole year.
Ordered a new 3 PAYG SIM with 24GB which is valid for up to 24 months. Cost was £43.50 from EBS Telecomms. Allows same EU and further afield roaming as contract SIM
I use the Three (3) 24gb valid 24 months for about £40. I am onto my third one in three years and have a spare in the van. They work well through out France and Northern Spain. I have never not got service unless there was no coverage (mountains and forests). Don’t use them for Skype or streaming as that eats the data. Some also claim not to be offered 4G or to be throttled, but my forum, newspaper, weather forecast browsing is unaffected.
It is advised that when you return from Abroad (including the exotic ROI) turn your mifi on so that 3 know you are back in the UK and do not cut you off after 3 months pass which is nominally the time limit on any one trip.

I have activated all of mine in the UK as it was stated on their website, however a few members on motorhomefacts claim to have been able to activate whilst on the continent. I don’t know if the website is just lagging behind the practice, but since my first one lasted some 20 months and the second just over 12 months, there is unlikely to be much loss if I overlap them slightly to achieve UK activation. The third has been eaten quite quickly as we have a daughter working in Sydney and we have done just short of 100 nights so far this year, so Skype has done for it rather quickly.

we have been using a three 12g and lately a 24g data sim in a huawei E5577,and it has worked well .
currently we have signed for the three £20 per month package which looks very attractive.
Will Just have to use it for a while to see how it works out.
the three site is easily accessed,but the package, as advertised, should solve any problems in running out of data.
this time we have put the sim in an old iphone 5, heres hoping .

I’ve just ordered the 3 Sim as a result of reading in here and at a much cheaper rate. If only firms realised the potential for business from providing good service at a reasonable rate and being referred to in here.
