Heading to Kinsale. Heading off this morning, have to be there by lunchtime Saturday.

We been to Dungarvan, Dick's Field and Cobh last month. Don't fancy Middleton.

Any suggestions for a stop over on the way or just go straight to Kinsale. We're sorted for Saturday and Sunday nights. I've tried Garretstown House but they haven't answered the phone or replied to 2 emails I sent so I won't be going there.

How about a spot of free overnight parking by Garretstown beach or Garrylucas beach?

Might have a look at Garretstown Beach. We'll actually be staying in the Marina beside Garrylucas. I'll discuss with the wife

Agreed, any option would be very nice for some wild camping and enjoy the beach. The sea is pretty much like a swimming pool at the moment as there's no swell.

Downside is that you'll not have pubs or shops nearby.

You have places in between like Robert's Cove which I'll recommend to grab a bite and walk around the hill and see the whole bay, Rocky Bay Beach is a very nice spot as well it has a small parking and could potentially be packed this time of the year.

If you want to visit a town, I'll plug my very own. Carrigaline, you can easily park your van across Lidl and even do an overnight there, walking distance to shops, pubs and a lovely walk over the old rail road all the way down to Crossheaven which is another nice little town.

From there, just follow the Wild Atlantic Way, can't go wrong with that

The Speckled Door is close enough to GarryLucas. Nice food there too.

Been looking for that cycle path, couldn't remember where in Cork I'd seen it. Bikes already loaded so we may well head that way.

Yeah, it's lovely to cycle on the old railway path from Carrigaline to Crosshaven (Crosser). We've done it a few times. Runs alongside the river just about all of the way.

Maybe drop into Cronins for a pint... Ahh...

We spent 2 nights in Kinsale, parked by the river just beside the town. Lovely quiet spot, no problems at all. We had a space "available" to us at the marina beside the beach but you couldn't get a pushbike down there with the crowds at the beach.
Spent a night in Crosshaven, parked along the fence at the boat yard, again great spot no problems. Dropped into Cobh on the way across to Dungarvan to empty tanks and refill and did part of the Greenway yesterday.
