This will be my first year with the motorhome, we would normally have the caravan at Deighans and drive up to watch it, so does anyone have good sugestions where to park for the weekend to get the best view.

I have permission from a land owner to park and it's an ideal place, can take a few Motorhomes, I'll PM you as I have been asked not to make it public but can bring friends.

hi, i have parked up at ramone head carpark in the past! not sure if still aloud to, the council were threatening to clamp overnight parkers! does anyone know if you can still overnight there?

Allegedly if you park in the Council part and not the DRD part you will be ok, but I do not know how this works or which part is which.

thanks ally, maybe someone else may have more information, portrush traders will miss the motorhomers the last time i stayed there were 30/40 vans parked overnight!

wellsaid ally we will stock up in coleriane on the way there ,e wont be using caravan sites or shops in portrush until the change there attitude towards us ps portstewart is no better either

you can park overnight in the main car park dont stay overnight in the parking bays at the waters edge,left side of the road this is the DRDs 9pm-9am 1hour only no return for 2 hours.

I don't think that Ramore head will be available for parking as there is a concert being held there on saturday night.

I don't think its fair to punish the traders of portrush, after all its the council and site owners who are opposed to motorhomes. By all means don't use any sites.

Agreed, it's a difficult one. As far as I can see it and I may be wrong, it is not so much the council but DRD and certain site owners. By boycotting all business's they will become to realise what Motorhomers bring to their economy and then perhaps we have more chance of the by-laws being relaxed.

We are not allowed to park in certain area's without receiving a ticket, and we will not use the sites so we can't go there, so business's are being affected whether it's intentional or not.

"The Whitehouse" has already voiced it's concerns about losing trade due to the restrictions on Motorhome Parking.

I think the business's already know what trade the motorhomers bring to portrush, but boycotting portrush shops won't help the situation.

Then the business's need to voice their concern to their town manager or whoever is in charge. As I said above, we are being forced to boycott them as there is no available means to park a Motorhome. Whether it is intentional or not by Motorhomers, they are losing business.

We cannot visit the area so therefore we cannot spend money in the shops.

I/we do (usually) but I/we want to see the Air show, nothing wrong with that, and as said previously we will not be supporting Portrush when visiting the Air Show.

Over 98% of members who voted on this site voted to boycott Portrush.

I think that's the point for me, "FREE" entertainment.

When visiting Donaghadee we arrive with no food and no beer and stock up in Donaghadee, the same with other Aire's.

When parking at a pub we go in for a meal and a few pints, be rude not too. So despite visiting the Air Show, we are still boycotting Portrush by not using sites/shops/business's, until they see sense and stop giving us parking fines and make Motorhomer's welcome.

As previously stated by Bob,any MCC member is welcome to join us at Portrush Primary School for a nominal fee,where free entertainment is laid on and a portion of the fee collected goes back to the School.

No need for the big expensive sites and you cannot be called a free loader.
