Just had a request from ACSI to pay for the 2018 discount card / guidebook.

They said it would be posted so as to arrive before Christmas. Last year it arrived about 15th December

You are lucky, it was March before ours arrived despite being subscribers since 2012.
I was thinking of Vicarious books or Anchorpoint

Wondering if ACSI always send reminder this time of year, maybe we are Direct Debit subscription and won’t be reminded.
If we start asking it will complicate Ning’s nd end up with delay or duplicates.

My reminder arrived in October. This was in the email.

"If you order before Wednesday 1st November, you'll receive both the CampingCard ACSI discount card and the accompanying guide before the holidays. You'll immediately be able to start looking for the nicest campsites all over Europe! The price is just € 11.95* per year.

We wish you lots of great value camping fun in 2018.

Kind regards,
ACSI "

The discount Camping Card is tear-out part of inside cover of one of the 2 books.
There is a separate ID card which is a few €/£s, so you don’t have to leave your passport as ID at check-in.

Full praise to vicarious books, our 2018 ACSI arrived today which is ahead of the proposed date.
Much quicker service than ACSI direct and I’ll definately use again.
Looks good, prices remain unchanged with the max being €19.

We shipped your CampingCard ACSI 2018 today. In 2018, CampingCard ACSI will allow bargain camping at no fewer than 3,330 campsites.

Just received this from ACSI.
They seem to be on the ball this year

ACSI direct are quick this year.
Took until mid January last year to take delivery, hence the reason we went this time with vicarious books as we need the 2018 guide for trip at end of December.
It’s good to see ACSI direct have improved their delivery times.

On that note, does anyone know if there is going to be a new release of “all the Aires France” anytime soon ?
We’re on the edition previous to the 2 book edition, so it’s a bit dated now.

My ACSI books have always arrived in the first half of December, so I can’t fault them. Perhaps it is because I have a recurring membership with them which gives a bit of discount.

I was looking at the Vicarious website recently as my ‘aires’ books are in need of updating but I cannot see anything about a new addition being due. The last time a new edition was released there was a bit of advance warning.

May be the southern address Davy, was very late last year and I had ordered the previous August....
Yea, my Aires books are long in the tooth now but I picked up a French version last year which is very good.

Same thoughts here Davy.
We currently have the first edition of the North/South books and find it much handier than the previous single books set up.
If I remember correctly it was released in early 2015 with an update in early 2017. I too have been looking to see if there is a new edition due but it doesn't look like it.
In the past we have used the guide for several years without any major issues. Only on one occasion did we arrive at an Aire to find it closed but there is always another not too far.

Hi lads. What exactly does Acsi cover. We will be heading end of May to third week in June. Mainly using aires. Other than that generally Ireland, so is it worth buying then. Any thoughts would be appreciated

ACSI is a scheme where you get an agreed price (€11-€19 per night) for a pitch for 2 people, EHU, and shower tokens, but it is in low season only and some will be out of the scheme in the 3rd weekend in June.
I have the 2017 guide here, I’ll post it to you if you want to see how it works, but you will require the 2018 edition to avail of it during 2018... it comes with the ID card required to get the rate.
It is a very good scheme but not many Irish/UK sites in it.
If your interested in the 2017 guide then Drop me a PM with your name/address and I’ll send it to you.

That was the problem I had too lads. I needed it this year early as we’re leaving after Christmas..... last year I think it came late January from ACSI which is OK if you’re not going away early.
I enquired from vicarious books on delivery times and they guaranteed mid December to ROI...... and they were true to their word.
Happy with their service and will use again.

€12.95 plus €3.50 postage. I think this is a discounted price for an annual repeat order.

In the post yesterday David.
Yes, definately worth it if you’re travelling out of season.
You will see what times of the year which sites accept ACSI, some accept it later on in the high season. Also worth getting the ACSI app too as you can use it to access the SatNav directly to get to a site.
All the Aires France is worth getting too if you are travelling around France with no pre-determined stopover.
Other apps worth considering;
Park4Night
Campercontact

Also if using a toll-road an electronic tag is handy.
Toll tag link, there is other tag suppliers too.

Looking forward to getting a look through it. Thanks again
For the last 2 years I have used the French cci aires app. It’s very good, although completely in French. My French wouldn’t be great but I can make out most of it and any of the places we visited have been exactly as described. All very good. Free or a few euro. Also has campsites.
However something in English would be welcome

Email today with invoice:
1 x camping card ACSI combi subscription €14.95
Discount ACSI Club ID -€1
Delivery (1st class post). €6.00. Total €19.95
Can be tracked from 12th,
We have paid by direct debit on credit card.

We got the app last year, so is that what they mean by combi ?
or is it the 2books/ CC discount card (part of inside cover) AND the app OR the ID card, as it came separately last year for €4.95

ACSI 2018 CC books arrived today, so postage much more efficient this year feels thicker, we have combi subscription, details of cost see my previous post, still not sure if extra for the ID card ( for handing in instead of passport) does combi mean with the ACSI app?

Quick glance shows 12 campsites in Ireland there were 16 last year.
