Have a look online at campers like the one you are looking at, once you know roughly what they are asking then work out 13.5% of that price and add that to the price.
Its a lottery really there is no fixed price for campers in the revenue VRT system which is a pretty bad state of affairs
13.5% of what Revenue consider to be the open market selling price.
You can appeal the amount, once you have paid it....

Be careful if it's a secondhand van, it not 13.5% of what their asking or what you pay for it ,they will look at what the same van is priced at on the market here

Revenue use 13.5% of the O.M.S.P.. The 'S.P.' stands for Selling Price but in reality that is not the real Selling Price, let me explain.

The 'selling price' referenced by Revenue is the sticker/list/asking price that the MH or a similar one would be on the market for, they do not reference the actual selling price because that information is not collected and dealers would not want discounts they give disclosed.

So, VRT is calculated on the 'asking price' and not an actual 'selling price' which could be significantly lower figure.
IMHO VRT is managed so as to provide the maximum discouragement against personal imports.

If they are getting so much out of it why would they be be discouraging imports.?
