With all the ongoing political issues in the Catalonia region in Spain I am having second thoughts about being in that area for any length of time.
We have plans to travel to Cherbourg later this month (booked 14th, but flexi fare) and head south for the Spanish border and initially stopping south of Barcelona for a while, and possibly moving south towards Benidorm.
What’s people’s feelings about the situation there?
I think it could turn ugly if independence is declared with the possibility of disruption to fuel and supplies etc in a general strike as well as the obvious security issues.
Thinking now it may not be a good idea to travel there.
Maybe crossing northern Spain down into Portugal is an option.
