All,

Stayed at this great little pub, the Derwent Arms in York back in July. £6 per night to stay in their back field which has access to a watertap and grey water disposal. There is a cycle path close to the pub which takes you into York City Centre. We were the only MH in their field along accompanied by an elderly renegade group of 6 ex-Caravan club caravanners who were very friendly. Caravan Club site near York was looking to charge me £53 as a non-member per night - no thanks!

At least Dick Turpin wore a mask on his ride to York , the caravan club does not seem to bother

Seems to be a lot of complaints about the clubs in the UK. Prices/Nazi wardens/booking etc. etc.

But as the respected philosopher Groucho Marx once stated:
"I don't care to belong to any club that will have me as a member" !

Jack,

It was a great spot - handy for getting in and out of York on bikes with the children (Yorvic Viking Centre, Harry Potter Shop etc etc). Very quiet too.
