That's a shame, it's a lovely spot. Not sure what's going on with the new car park and toilet facilities. Still unopened. Designated coach spaces. Would have been an ideal location for an aire.
Overnight Motorhome parking welcome down the road for customers of the Rusty Mackeral.

It is a pity that there was not two of them, they would be handy to keep in the boot to use under the front wheels of your motorhome if you were ever parking in a soft place.
I was there in june, these signs weren't there then. I would have remembered. The only reason we stayed for the night was that it was very cold and windy at the parking above, but it would have been a far better place for the view and the sundown (if any).

I reckon it is the coach operation that are trying to keep the road from the lower carpark to the top carpark for themselves. We were up there in July 2016 early one morning at 8 am but when we left at 10.30 each coach tried to play chicken with us on the way down but I played them at their game and watched them downshifting and losing momentum costing them diesel in the long run.
Long term it will be like most Irish attractions, park miles away and buy the bus transfer or walk the equivalent of a half marathon.
Sad really because it's stunning.

There wasn't coach transfer as of July 2016, but the development works in the lower car park indicated to us of a possible park and ride system. The bus guys that I was referring to earlier was operators similar to a "paddy wagon" style. A three /four days, cannon ball run of the Wild Atlantic way with quick stops on the route.

Was up there earlier this week and there were no signs at the middle carpark (the one with the toilets). We drove up during the day having spent the night parked up in the carpark of the nearby Rusty Mackerel pub (permission to park was no problem as we were having a meal and drinks). The pub was very busy for a Monday night in February but the lower carpark and visitor centre which is only a few minutes walk away seems to have plenty of spaces. No "no overnight parking" signs that we could observe when driving by, but we didn't drive right up. Fantastic location and I'd imagine once you're not causing a nuisance who's going to ask you to move on?!
